Type II Collagen
- Starts to help reduce joint pain and stiffness due to osteoarthritis of the knee in as little as 7 days
- Helps to reduce joint pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee
- May help reduce joint pain through supporting a healthy inflammatory response
If you’ve been browsing the shelves of your local health food store, you’ve likely noticed different types of collagen available. But what’s the difference between type I, II, III, IV, and beyond? Each type is found and used in different areas of the body. Type II collagen is found in the flexible, elastic cartilage that supports your joints and helps them move smoothly, absorb impact, and reduce friction between bones. Breakdown and loss of this cartilage, a common side effect of aging and osteoarthritis, can result in discomfort and inflammation at the joints, making movement difficult.
To keep cartilage abundant, we need plenty of collagen. To build collagen, we need amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, that link into long strands to form collagen. Those strands are sequenced in different arrangements, and these differences in structure determine the type of collagen.
Unlike supplemental collagen peptides, which are broken down into shorter sequences of amino acids for easy absorption, type II undenatured collagen is in its original structure. When taken supplementally, it passes through the digestive system, where the collagen structure may interact with the immune system to support a healthy inflammatory response – which may help reduce joint pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee.
CanPrev’s Type II Collagen is powered by UC-II® – a patented form of undenatured type II collagen from chicken cartilage – plus added Boswellin® SUPER. This powerful combination starts to help reduce joint pain and stiffness due to osteoarthritis of the knee in as little as 7 days.

Boswellia helps with OA in big toes
after suffering with chronic pain in both feet due to OA in big toes and plantar fasciitis for approx 10 months – I went to the planet health store looking for type 2 collagen. The advisor provided me this product instead – Bosellia with Type 2 collagen. After about 5 days I was able to walk without significant pain for the 1st time in 10 months. it’s not perfect, but my gait improved alot and am able to function walking around the city and working at the farm. No real side effects but I do eat a heartly lunch meal before taking a pill.
I tried going off the pill for 1 day to see how I would feel, and the inflammation started coming back – so it doesn’t heal your joints / Cartlidge but blocks / masks the pain. My main concerns would be long term usage on the liver, kidney, other, and by “masking” the pain – I am just causing more damage to the Cartlidge/ joint by using it more?
